Dr. Pam Shockley-Zalabak is the10th leader in UCCS’s 50 year history. She is a tireless leader and innovator.

During her tenure she has guided the campus through unprecedented growth. Under her leadership the University has been transformed from a small commuter-based campus to a full-fledged collegiate hub. Current enrollment is approaching 12,000 undergraduate, graduate and online students. The university currently offers 45 bachelors, 22 masters and five doctoral degrees. Today, UCCS is a top ranked university by U.S. News and World Report.

In addition to being the University’s Chancellor, Dr. Shockley-Zalabak is also recognized as one of our most dynamic community leaders. An avid advocate and community activist, she has received numerous awards. The list includes:

Chancellor’s award for Distinguished Faculty, the Colorado Springs Chamber of Commerce’s ATHENA-Women in Business award, the 2004 Girl Scout’s Women of Distinction award, the 2005 Student Choice for Instructor of the Year award, 2008 Colorado Springs Business Journal’s Women of Influence award and the 2013 Pikes Peak Range Rider award. Additionally, she continues to teach, do research and write books. As of 2015, she has had nine books published.

She is truly a Renaissance Woman.

Dr. Shockley-Zalabak is the driver behind UCCS’s growth and has played a similar role in Colorado Springs. She and the University are not just expanding but are leading the region into the world of Cyber Security with the development of it Cyber Security Center. It is doing much of this in conjunction with the US Army Reserve.
